What I enjoy most about being a trainer is: Watching the “light bulb” turn on and the excitement students have then they “get it.”

Spencer Pope

Nickname or preferred name: Spencer
Years in the trade/industry: 15 years – EPA Section 608 Certified Types I & II, R-410A Training, HVAC Certificate
When I am not working, I like: Backpacking, mountain biking, kayaking, disc golf, longboarding, riding my motorcycle, aquascaping & paludariums, paintball … and anything outside with my German Shepherd.
What I enjoy most about being a trainer is: Making sequence-of-operation troubleshooting accessible; and advancing our industry for today’s professionals and the next generation.

Wade Poland

Nickname or preferred name: Wade
Years in the trade/industry: 32 plus years – LEED Accredited Professional (LEED®AP), ACCA Refrigerant Transition and Recovery certified Type I and II (Grandfathered into EPA Program).
When I am not working, I like: Hunting, riding ATV’s, staying physically fit/active, and spending time with family doing most anything outdoors.
What I enjoy most about being a trainer is: I love to see that “A-ha” moment and excitement when someone either figures out what you are teaching them or when they have discovered something new that you have taught them.

Nick Baker

Years in the trade/industry: 15 years, I worked as a commercial plumber, 12+ years in Research and Development doing safety and compliance testing, along with development of BWC commercial and residential gas products.
When I am not working, I like: Spending time with my family and friends, hunting, fishing, beach volleyball, traveling, and cooking.
What I enjoy most about being a trainer is: The increase in a person’s confidence on troubleshooting and diagnosing after training.

Shari Scherzer

Years in the trade/industry: 24 years training coordination experience
When I am not working, I like: to spend time with my family, stay physically active doing yoga and going to the gym, visiting wineries and being outdoors.
What I enjoy most about being a trainer is: meeting new people in the trades, supporting the technical trainers and seeing the progression of learning in those who attend the classes.

David Piantaggini

Nickname or preferred name: Dave
Years in the trade/industry: 37 years – HVAC/R including oil and refrigeration certifications
When I am not working, I like: Spending time with family and friends, watching movies, grilling and smoking, cooking in general and retro arcade games.
What I enjoy most about being a trainer is: I’m excited every time I’m in front of a class or even a single person and able to help them learn something that they didn’t know or understand. I’m here to help them to succeed. It’s simple and it motivates me to do what I do every day.

What I enjoy most about being a trainer is: The camaraderie that I have in the trade and the legacy of sharing a wealth of knowledge. I also benefit from this process which leads to a continuous learning cycle.
